    Many owners of houses in Seminole County recently got a letter from Countrywide telling us that our info may have been stolen by a “former employee” (yes, I say us because I got one of the letters too!  One of my rentals properties is with Countrywide)

    So our names, social security numbers, and other sensitive information has possibly been sold on the open market already.  They arrested 2 people in relation to this, the “seller” and the “buyer” of the data, but how does that affect us?  Countrywide has offered 2 years of free credit monitoring (which I’m going to take them up on!) but other than that…we’ll have to see!

    Here’s a link to the article that the Orlando Business Journal ran on this topic, and yes, the Attorney General is looking in to it, for whatever that’s worth, now that the damage has already been done.
